Carbohydrates
Low carb. No carb. What's the real story on
carbohydrates? Green plants contain simple carbohydrates such as sucrose
(table sugar) and fructose. More complex carbohydrates, such as starch,
also come from grain, wheat and oats. Carbohydrates are further linked to
cellulose and indigestible forms known as fiber. Shifting from one form to
another in diets can have a positive impact on the health of animals...which is
why MAZURI® chose to shift from sucrose to fructose in our new
primate line. Fructose does not lead to diabetes and doesn't ferment in
the mouth the same way as sucrose, which helps maintain healthy teeth and
gums. To get proper utilization of nutrients, a diet must also contain a
full compliment of B vitamins. MAZURI® diets combine the
proper balance that turns carbohydrates into energy for all species.
