Primates require vitamin C. Mazuri Monkey Crunch Biscuit contains a form of vitamin C that is stable for at least 270 days from the date of manufacture which is printed on the bag.

Primates generally consume about 2 to 4 percent of their body weight in food each day. A guide for consumption would be 50-60 g per 5 kg body weight per day. A male gorilla may eat as much as 1 kg per day, while the chimpanzee may only consume 100-200 g/day.

Mazuri Monkey Crunch 20 may be soaked in a fruit juice to soften the biscuits for infants or animals that have difficulty chewing. Fruit juice is recommended because soaking the biscuits in water or milk more rapidly deteriorates the vitamin C. The use of fruits, vegetables or other supplements is optional but not necessary.
